In the past, the Tacoma was offered with a 4.0-liter V6 engine that wasn't exactly conservative in the efficiency department, but the engine of old has been scrapped for a new, more efficient option. The 3.5-liter, naturally-aspirated engine is expected to provide higher fuel economy ratings, and also lend a great deal in the power department. It's the same engine found in the Camry and the Highlander, and produces 278 horsepower in the Tacoma.
The all-new Tacoma will also come equipped with new features such as keyless entry, a 4.2-inch color display and projector-beam headlights. As we expected, the more off-road-friendly TRD models get extra technology such as a smart key system with push button start and a more prominent, aggressive hood scoop. Crawl control and multi-terrain select system are also an option, as are a range of safety features that will help you to play safely.
